Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Bundle

I confess, I am a coffee addict.  So when I saw that there was a coffee themed bundle in the new annual catalogue, I knew I had to have it.  Today, I made time to play with it and made a single card.  The striped paper as well as the coffee ring stain paper I used as a background for the photo are from the Coffee Break DSP.

Happy 150th Birthday Canada

I've had this card in the back of my mind for a while now.  Actually, as soon as I saw the "Colourful Seasons Bundle" by Stampin' Up!, I knew I wanted to make a card based on the Canadian Flag.  My plan was for it to be simple, just like the design of the flag, and though it IS simple in design, it did take some different supplies to accomplish what I'd hoped for.

Thank You Cards

I don't know about you, but since I started making my own cards, I use a lot of thank you cards.  If you think about how you feel when someone sends you a card saying thanks, you'll understand why I do it.  Especially in this day and age when so much is impersonal, like internet chats and text messages; it means a lot more to someone when you take the time to write a note in a lovely card and mail it off to them.  Imagine their delight when they find something in their mail box that is not a bill!

When I designed this card, I made four of them all at once, using the same basic supplies.  The only thing I changed was the colour of the flower and the sentiment.  That makes the card quick and easy, but it still has a clean and simple beauty about it.

I have to mention to you the first supply item you'll find on my list below - the "Many Marvellous Markers" by Stampin' Up!  Before I owned them I wasn't sure that I needed them but now that I have them, I find I use them every time I sit down to create.  Colouring in the designs I stamp is always a relaxing process.  I also use them when I didn't get a stamp perfect and I can touch it up with the marker that matches the stamp pad I used.  Trust me, if you decide to invest in them, you'll find them indispensable!

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons Bundle

Sometimes I like a card to be clean and simple and this card fills the bill!  And the sentiment - "Just Breathe" says it all about the effort it takes to make this card.  The process starts using inks from the stamp pads and the Aqua Painters to create a watercolour wash of colour for the background.  The clump of grass and the sun come from the "High Tide" stamp set.  If you prefer, you can make the card yours by choosing your favourite colour for the lawn chair and sentiment.

Crafting Forever by Stampin' Up!

Here is a sneak peek at the cover of the new catalogue which launches June 1, 2017.

I'm pretty excited about so many of the new stamp sets in this catalogue and the one I want to share with you today is "Crafting Forever".  When I first saw the old fashioned clothes pegs with bakers twine wound around them, all I could think about was how they looked to me like people. I just needed to add face features and hair.  And that was my jumping off point for this card. I had so much fun pulling it all together!

I've included the supply list for the items I used to make this card but please be aware that you will not be able to order the first five until June 1, 2017.  You can order the last three items on the list now.  The Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon is retiring so be sure to order it before May 31, 2017 if you'd like to have it.
